Pedestrian Fatality
Occurs on Rt. 211
A migrant laborer from Flop Ida died instantly in a traffic mishap Saturday night in Rappahannock County. He was Francisco Sanabria, 34, a colored male of Alta Monte Springs, Fla. Sanabria got out of a car on Route 211 in front of Pine Knot Inn and as he dashed across the highway to the tavern he was struck by an approaching vehicle. According to Trooper W. A. Buntin, the operator of the 1966 Ford station wagon which struck Sa nabria was owned and operated by Eugenous Melker Hovatter with Headquarters Marine Corps, Arlington who lives in Silver Spring, Md. The officer said investigation showed that Hovatter was in his proper lane when he struck the victim and dragged him several yards. Sanabria was pronounced dead at the scene by Assistant Medical Examiner Dr. Edwin Eastham and the body released to Marshall Funeral Home in Culpeper.
This was the second traffic fatality this calendar year in Rappahannock, both of them pedestrians. The otheroccurred in July when Samuel Atkins oi Sperryville died of injuries sustained on Route 211 '
