Mrs. Elton Bruce
Mrs. Elton Brucie Fox Bruc^ 74, wife of Charles T. Bruce of Washington, Va. died Sunday, September 24 in Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal following' a long period of illness. Mrs. Bruce was born August 26, 1895 in Rappahannock County, daughter of the late William A. and Ethel Fox. She was cashier at the Rappahannock National Bank and employee for many years. She served as organist at Trinity Episcopal Church. In addition to her husband she is survived by one niece, Mrs. Thomas E. Blades of Venice, Florida and a nephew, Luther Partlow of Arlington. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington, Va. with the Rev. Charles F. Glaenzer officiating. Pallbearers were C. J. Miller, D. D. Miller, Thomas B.Massie, W. A. Miller, J. W. Fletcher and Lucio Kilby. A Memorial Fund has been started for Brucie Fox Bruce by the members of Trinity Episcopal Church in recognition of her service as organist for 50 years. Mrs. Mary H. Lea has been designated as receiver for this Fund.
