Seal Letters Mailed
Mrs. Isaac L. Parrish of Amissville, 1968 Rappahannock County Christmas Seal Chairman, announced that almost eleven hundred homes and businesses have received their Christmas Seal letters.
An active community worker and mother, Past president of Women of Bromfield Church and PTA, Mrs. Parrish said “In just a couple of minutes you can open your Christmas Seal letter - answer by sending your contribution - and there! You’ve done your bit for the many people who suffer from TB and other respiratory diseases. Just a few short minutes - to a lot of people, it can be a matter of life and breath.” Assisting the chairman in preparing the seals for mailing were Mrs. James Moss of Castleton, Mrs. Thomas Lewis of Flint Hill, Mrs. Elmo Flint of Washington, and Mrs. William Keim of Amissville.
Jaycees Award Prizes Friday Night
A Remington 1100 automatic 12 gauge shotgun will be given away Friday night, November 15 during the shooting match held at Ivy Hill Tea Room. The shooting matches are sponsored by the Rappahannock Jaycees, Second prize will be an old Virginia ham. You do not have to be present to win.
Rappk. Garden Club
Members of the Rappahannock County Garden Club will meet at Mrs. Francis J. Leonard’s home, Lull water Farm, in Amissville for their annual Christmas Bazaar Workshop. The meeting date is Wednesday, November 20, 1968 and the time is 10:30 a.m. Those attending should bring s sandwich. Please note the change in meeting place.
