Heard a good sermon Sunday. The preacher took his text from Matthew, twenty-fifth chapter; using the Parable of the Talents. He didn’t say whether it was talents of gold, valued at $32,640, or silver which would have a value of $2,176. The value of the talents was not accentuated, but the servant who did not use his blessing, at all, bore the brunt of condemnation--an idle and wicked servant.
It seems that to remain idle is one of the greatest sins one can commit. There is a verse in Genesis that says in effect, “By the shedding of your own perspiration shall you earn your bread.” There is a group now to whom the word BREAD has a new connotation. They do not earn it, this bread, but I understand that they perspire freely under their heavy clothing, phew. That is not relevant in this Instance, however. It is relevant that we have a society (?) in which such conditions exist and
