Registration features of the !aw only applies to gangster type weapons and destructive devices. Included in this category are machine guns, sawed off shotguns, sawed off rifles, bazookas, rockets, mortars, bombs, mines, grenades and similar destructive devices.
A thirty day grace period beginning November 2 is provided in the law for the registration of these weapons. Weapons previously registered with the Director, Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Division of Internal Revenue Service need not be re-registered.
Forms used for the registration of weapons can be obtained from any Internal Revenue Service office. Information furnished to register a weapon within the grace period cannot be used in any criminal proceeding for a prior or concurrent violation of the law.
