Finally we came to the real Danish Village at Solvana, Calif. This is the most attractive village. A windmill is right in the town. Had John not warned us that if we were not back to the bus on time we would be left there and our bags would be in Santa Barbara, we would have lingered here on and on. We were served the most delicious Danish pastries and coffee in their coffee shop adjoining their bake shop. The girl who served us was in costume with their type of wooden clogs. I wasn’t going to miss a trick, so I went to the wine cellar and tasted the Blackberry wine, but I was back to my bus on tinje. We had to leave out some of the lovely shops because of time.

Then we left our Danish Village for Santa Barbara where we spent the night at the Miramar right on the ocean and yet there was ai heated pool right in front of my room window. Here I had a scare. Just as 1 was ready for bed, I had a long distance call. I went cold when I heard the operator call my
