Rep. Marsh Sees
Unity As Need
Congressman John O. Marsh, Jr., said Monday night that “cooperation and a close working relationship between the outgoing Administration and the incoming Administration is vital to U. S. and free world security. The orderly transfer of power is one of the great advantages of the American system and is one of the great weaknesses of any Communist nation.”
The Seventh District Congressman spoke at Veterans’ Day ceremonies in his home community of Strasburg, sponsored by the American Legion Post 77.
“Events on the national and international scene happen rapidly,” the Congressman observed. “Suddenly, an area that has been relatively calm suddenly erupts, as we saw not long ago in the Middle East and recently in Czechoslovakia. The handling of a crisis on the international scene requires a prompt response.”
