Let’s keep it that way. All game except quail may be hunted in the snow. Since it appears that snow may be a factor opening day, let’s look at the law in respect to quail hunting, Hie intent of the law is to prevent the tracking of birds and shooting of birds when and where the snow is heavy enough to deny quail their natural defense of blending with their cover. They may not be huntedwhen, they can be tracked or when they stand out like “sitting quail” against a snowy background. Hie decision then must be made by the hunters at the time of hunting and in the particular area being hunted. Often the higher areas in the county can not be hunted when the lower portion can or even in a small area some field or slopes will be legal and others not.
