Mrs. Walker has given about 50 talks since their return and put up displays at elementary schools.
In her eight year 4-H membership in Rockingham County she carried home economics projects and won a trip to the National 4-H Congress. She majored in home economics at V.P.l. and was active in the 4-H Alumni Club and All Stars. She now is a member of the Blacksburg Home Economists in Homemaking.
Slaughter, a delegate to the General Assembly of Virginia, has represented Culpeper, Madi son and Orange Counties since 1958. He is chairman of the Committee on Nominations and Confirmations and is a member of the Appropriations Committee and other committees.
His father and grandfather preceded him in serving in the General Assembly. A partner in the law firm of Button, Stratton & Slaughter, he received his LI B. and B.A. degrees at the University of Virginia.
He is a member of American, Virginia and local bar associations, Chamber; of Commerce and Jaycees, Ruritans, Farm ■Rureau, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and other organizations. He received the Distinguished Service Award for Culpeper County in 1960.
As a member of the House of Delegates, he is influential in appropriation of funds for 4-H Club work. While serving as executive secretary of the Culpeper County Chamber of Commerce he led the board of directors in supporting 4-H work. During his 4-H membership in Culpeper County he carried dairy and garden projects.
