Cheaper by the Dozen
You might ask Mr and Mrs. Norvel James of Viewtown “if they’re cheaper by the dozen” for they have just seen their 12th child graduate from high school. All have attended Culpeper County High School, and all have received their diplomas from the Rev. Floyd T. Binns who is a member of the school staff. The youngest, Donald James, was graduated in June and is employed by the Nehi Bottling Company. Occupations of the others, all of whom have responsible positions, include nursing, mechanical inspector, state policeman, highway department, secretary, bank employee, etc.
Manslaughter Charged
Randall S. Updike of Washington, Va. was charged with involuntary manslaughter in Rockingham County Monday morning following a traffic crash in which a Mt. Jackson wdman was killed. Mrs, Judy Mae Mars ton, 27, was the victim ol the collision which occured about 10:50 a m. on Interstate Route 81. Both vehicles were traveling south when the Marston car was struck in the rear by the Updike vehicle, according to Trooper W B. Wilmore.
David Marston, the victim’! husband who was driving sustained cuts and their ter year-old son, Dennis wai hospitalized, but in satisfactory condition.
Randall Updike was released or a thousand d'bllar bond anc arraignment is set for July 15.
