James D. Ellmore Drowns
James David Ellmore, 24, of Falls Church drowned Saturday afternoon at Lake Louisa,. He was the grandson of J. E. Ellmore of Amissville. A funeral service was held yesterday at Pearson’s Funeral Home in Falls Church. Interment was in National Memorial Park.
Missionary Circle Meets
The Annie Latham Missionary Circle of Amissville Baptist Church held its June meeting last Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Douglas Perkins. The Circle meets the second Wednesday of each month and the next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Gilbert Lawrence.
• Retires from Hospital
Mrs. J. E. Woodward of Amissville has retired from her position as a practical nurse at Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton. She began work there when the new hospital was opened about ten years ago, but had been in the profession since 1919. She had worked at St. Elizabeth’s and Providence hospitals. Mrs. Woodward was presented a retirement gift by her fellow emp oyees, a silver tray, pitcher and serving dish and they provided cake and sherbert for the occasion.
