Summer School f c

Begins Monday, Ji

The Title I program, “Introductory Activities for First Graders” will start on July 7 and run through July 25, 1969. The three-week program, open to all children in Rappahannock County who will enter the first grade in the County’s school in September, will run from 9 a.m. to 12 noon daily, Monday through Friday ~ If the child is not already registered, he may be registeredon Monday, July 7, 1969 at the Rappahannock Elementary School. The purpose of this year’s program is two-fold. The activities are designed to insure that the children will receive some readiness experiences necessary for successful first grade work. Those children who have already attended a kindergarten will be placed in separate classes where they will receive different experience that will be meaningful to them.

The primary aim of the program, however, is one of identification. Every attempt will be made to determine the weak and strong points of each child so that an appropriate program can be established for him when the regular first grade begins.
