People buy many nonfood items such as paper towels, cleaning supplies, drug items, magazines, etc. at the grocery store. People buy many expensive out-of-season items.
People buy foods that they formerly produced at home. So the next time the comment is made that food is so expensive, maybe the food has gone up in price but then maybe our habits have changed, also.
