Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Public arc responsible for the trash which litters the highways and countryside in Rappahannock County, the State of Virginia and the Nation. Until we learn to discipline ourselves and become conscious of littering, the situation cannot improve. Above is a small sample of what graces our roads everywhere. Just west of Amissville on a wide pull-olf, tree trimmers periodically deposit their day's clippings on the side of the road. On numerous occasions, brush and limbs are left for highway workers to remove. Other tree trimmers put brush in the dump at Amissville and some hilarious gink comes along and sets the whole thing on fire. This makes delightful acrid smoke and odor for those living nearby. Join the campaign to keep our county and country clean and beautifuL Dont throw even a match stick on the roadside.
