Heart Volunteers
The youth of Piedmont District will act as Heart Fund volunteers in the Sperryville area this year. They will be taking donations door-to-door from 9 - 12 a.m. on Saturday, February 14. Please contribute to this most worthy cause!
February has been proclaimed Heart Month by Governor Holton. Diseases of the heart and blood vessels take more lives each year than all other causes combined. But the death rate from heart attack is down 2.2%, stroke is down 35.3%, and high blood pressure and related heart disease is down 63.1%. The Heart Fund has played a great role in the reduced death rates from these causes. Over two million dollars has been allocated to State and National Heart Research by the Virginia Heart Association and its chapters since the first Heart Fund Campaign in 1949.
