Entries Open for
Hound Drag Race
Entry blanks for the fox hound drag race to be held in conjunction with thle Rappahannock Point-to-Point Races on March 7 will be mailed early next week to more than eighty owners. According to W. H. Lyne, chairman of the drag race, entries must be in by March I.
Awards in the drag race, both cash and trophy, will in genera) be the same as in previous years. Lyne said he expected the largest number of entries ever, since many hound owners have indicated keen determination in seeing that Jack Bruce does not retire the challenge trophy this year. Though this challenge trophy does not necessarily have to be won in consecutive years, the Bruce hounds have been the victors for the past two years, so with a win this year, the coveted bowl will be his for keeps.
With 58 hounds driving hard and staying well grouped, the race last year was proclaimed by many to be the best ever and by far the most exciting event of the occasion. Mail entries for the hound race to W. H. Lyne, Washington, Va, 22747.
