To The Mother* AND Fathers of Rappahannock County Children: This is a challenge, not an appeal! You’ve seen the national advertisement which says “Give us the man who reads!" - will your child be welcomed in his field of endeavor because of his wide general knowledge, in addition to his specialized abilities? The love of reading must be instilled In children at an early age. And your library is trying to help through the Saturday morning Children's Hour.
However, the library can’t do it all. You must be willing to sacrifice a little of your leisure or a little of your sleep or a little of ydur working time to GET THE CHILDREN HERE. Since no public transportation is available, the children must depend upon you to bring them. Won’t you organize car pools in your area? If you do this each family should have to give only one day a month, a small gift for the benefit of your children.
