William Anthony Layman, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Samuel Layman of Charlottesville, will receive a master of divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary on May 25.
Mr. Layman was graduated from Lynchburg College in 1966 with a bachelor of arts. Before entering the Seminary he served three years with Sperry Piedmont in Charlottesville. While in the Seminary he has served in the Mount Tabor and Agricola charges. He is presently with the Little Fork United Methodist Charge which serves Amissviile and Jeffersonton.
Wesley Theological Seminary, Methodist, chartered 1882, is now located on a new campus in Washington, D. C., adjacent to The American University, where it is currently training more than 250 men and women for the Christian ministry and Christian education.
The influence of Wesley is felt around the world. More than 1,100 of its graduates are in the service of the Church in almost every state and in 12 countries. While most of its graduates enter the Methodist ihiiifstry, its aliiftnl are found in 15 different denominations. Mr. Layman is married to the former Elaine Funkhouser and they have three children, Tracey Lynn, Julie Ann and Jennifer Leah. They live at Jeffersonton.
