Elmer J. Nalls, son of James H. Nalls, formerly of RFD 1, Washington, has been cited for his fine work at the U. S. Army Mobility Equipment Research and Development Center, Fort Belvoir. He is shown here with Colonel Walter C. Gelini, Commanding Officer, who presented him with a “Quality Increase" award, the equivalent of an in-grade salarv increase which is made only to personnel whose work, both in quality and quantity, fa that normally required for their position. Mr. Nalls was cited, specifically, for his * m furthering the Army’s standardization of equipment program. A Navy veteran of WorK tr II, Mr. Nalls has been employed since 1956 at the Center, which is responsible for resea i , development and engineering for round-the-clock mobility in some 15 fields of military engineering ranging from detection devices to water purification equipment. Nalls resides with his wife, Helen, and daughter, Carolyn, at 4409 Laurel Place, Alexandria. Three other daughters, Kathryn, Brenda and Helen, are married. His father also resides at the Alexandria address.
