Miss Laing Named

Asst Professor

Miss Aileen Hyland Laing has been appointed assistant professor of art at Ashland College, Ashland, Ohio effective for the fall semester President Glenn L. Clayton announced today. She was awarded her B. A. degree with honors from George Washington University with a major in the history of art and expects to receive her Ph. D. degree in October from Johns Hopkins University. Miss Laing was a summer intern in the education department at the National Gallery of Art and a student instructor at Johns Hopkins University. She has also been employed as a medical technologist at George Washington University Hospital. She received a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship (1966-67); W. W. Dissertation Fellowship [1969-70); Kress Traveling Fellowship (1968-69). She has written a book review an “Francoise Henry, Irish Art to 300 A. D.” published in the College Art Journal in 1966. Miss Laing is the daughter of VIr. and Mrs. Douglas G. Laing of fVmissville.
