The Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Madison was the setting for the wedding of Miss Sandra Lee Geer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Turner Ashby Geer of Brightwood to Downing Lee Hitt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Downing Hitt of Castleton, on Sunday, May 17,1970, at four o’clock. The Rev. Milton Switzer of Pennsylvania performed the double-ring ceremony before a background of candelabra and ferns with arrangements of white flowers.
Mrs. Donald Judy of Aylor provided the nuptial music. Mrs. John Walter Jenkins of Sperryville, soloist, sang “TTie Lord’s Prayer”, and “O Promise Me”. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a formal gown of white organza with a high neckline and empire waist edged in daisy trim and long sleeves. Daisy medallions accented the skirt and chapel-length train. Her elbow-length veil of illusion was attached to an organza and daisy-trimmed bow. She carried a bouquet of white daisies and roses. Miss Connie Stanley of Culpeper was maid of honor. She wore a floor-length gown of mint * green organza -with'long sleeves and matching headpiece. She carried a bouquet of yellow daisies.
