Cancer Crusade Tbps
Fair-Share Goal
The Rappahannock Unit of the American Cancer Society attained ind passed its goal in the 1970 hind crusade according to chairman of the campaign Mrs. Roberta Anderson of Woodvitl*. The goal was $1,500 for this year ind the tally as of Tuesday morning was $1,853.21. Mis. Anderson expressed her thanks for the splendid cooperation and ■aid, “I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitute to the residents of Rappahannock County for their contributions. Fund raising is not easy. Special appreciation goes to my co-chairman, Mrs. Robert J. Rodgers of Flint Hill for her excellent cooperation and to the captains of each district.” Mrs. Anderson continued by saying that it took fifty workers to convass the county and the efforts of each was most appreciated. District chairmen were: Hampton, Mrs. Richard Tuma; Hawthorne, Mrs. J. L. Yoweli; Jackson, Mrs. Herman Scharmer; Stonewall, Mrs. Amos Butler; Wakefield, Mrs. Robert Clatterbuck; and Piedmont, Mis. Mary Clarke. This is the second year that Mrs. Anderson has headed the local Cancer Crusade with excellent results. Homemakers Leader
Training Meeting
There will be a Leader Training Meeting for leaders for the Homemaker Clubs in the county on Friday, May 22 at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Parish Hal), Washington, on “Making oorsages and Working.with Flowers”. The program will be given by Mrs. Mary Quinn of Culpeper. The public, is invited to attend and participate.^ For furthef information, contact the Extension Office at 675-3619.
