Scout Activities
Approximately 45 Cub Scouta of Troop No. 123 and their parents under the leadership of Scoutmaster William M. Hargett enjoyed a hike at Dark Hollow Falls on Skyline Drive Sunday and a picnic at Big Meadows. This trip was in connection with the Environmental Study Program being offered by the Pkrk Service to school and scout groups in the area. On Saturday Scoutmaster Paul Nichols accompanied a group of 8 Scouts from Troop No. 36 to a Scout Show at the West Virginia Air National Guard Hangar in Martinsburg, W. Va.
Ruritans Provide
National Flags
The Ruritan National has laid out a very Inclusive program for Patriotism. The committee on Citizenship and Patriotism of the Amissville Ruritan Club has placed much emphasis on the display of our national emblem. Their continued sale of United States flags is with the lofty aim of having a flag displayed from every home and business In Rappahannock County on Memorial Day and Independence Day.
While the Rag is carried on the Navy mast and at the column's head, the committee hopes that each home will demonstrate its abiding resolve to support our nation’s freedom. Flags are being offered by the Ruritan Club at the special price of $3.65 with a complete set of fixtures for flying the 3x5 foot emblem.
