Michael Bentley, Mrs. Helen Kilby and A. T. Wright was appointed to pursue possibilities and direct any action forthcoming. All present were urged to attend the Zoning Appeals hearing set for December 30 at 9 a.m. in the court house at Washington. At this time the Potomac Edison Power Company will request a variance to Rappahannock’s zoning ordinance to secure right of way and erect a transmission line.

With hunting pressure falling off during the past few weeks the total deer kill has not increased greatly over that period. The total number of deer that have been taken tfnd checked here now stands at 1Q4. Again this does not account for those deer checked in adjoining counties. Eighty-four deer had bedn killed through the first two weeks of the season. Local hunters taking deer since then include Allen Brown of Sperryville, an 8 point buck; Nelson Atkins, Jr., of Flint Hill, a 7 pointer; Allen Steele of Huntly, 8 points; Steve Williams, Chester Gap, 5 points; Charles Fox, Huntly, 2 points; and William Jenkinson and Everett Smith both of Amissville with 9 point and spike bucks respectively.
Dwight Moody, an Arlington hunter, killed a deer during the morning in the Sperryville area and returned to the mountain to bag a bear before nightfall the same day. Rappahannock County bear kill stands at 9.
