Pedestrian Struck
In Sperryville
Lemon Broyle Atkins, 59, of iperryville was struck by an auto ruesday morning about 7 a.m. vhile crossing a street in jperryville. He sustained a leg and land injury and is a patient in the Jniversity of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, where he was aken by the Sperryville Rescue Squad. Driver of the vehicle, a 1956 Chevrolet, which struck him was rhomas William Atkins of Sperryville. The accident occurred at the intersection of Route 522 and Route 1001 in Sperryville Trooper J. B. Willis investigated the incident. Monday morning about 5:30 a.m. Jesse Cornelius Lucas of Stanley was involved in a single-vehicle crash. He said a steering defect caused him to lose control of his car and run over the bank. The crash occurred on Route 211, two miles east of Sperryville at Rediviva.
A single car crash occurred Friday evening in Amissville on Route 211. According to Trooper W. A. Buntin, French Pierce Grimes of Syria lost control of his 1962 Corvair and struck a cement abutment. He was taken to Fauquier Hospital, Warren ton with lacerations of the forehead, nose and cheek.
