Blacksburg—The lady who is always safe at home either spends no time in her kitchen or is living a charmed life. Research indicates the kitchen is one of the most dangerous rooms in the house. But, It does not have to be so.
Wanda Golden, Virginia Tech extension specialist in housing, who dubbed the kitchen “the most dangerous room in the house,” described it as a combination factory, bakery, cannery, butcher shop, restaurant, household workshop and a childrens' playground. “Here is the place for the family to put into practice all each member knows about safety," she said.
Stressing safety as an attitude, Miss Golden went on, “Safety is a sincere concern for the well-being of oneself and others. It is a willingness to accept rules and regulations and to apply them in
