Mrs.Reynolds Heads

Cancer Crusade

Mrs. Carolyn Reynolds of Sperryville as chairman of the 1971 Cancer Crusade here will pilot the Rappahannock Unit to its goal of $1,500. This goal, set by the state unit, is the same as that of the two past years. However, Rappahannock was successful last year in exceeding this goal with the final tally standing at $1,965. Mrs. Reynolds said, “With the consistent efforts of all who have helped through work and contributions in the past plus the interest and aid of more recent residents, there is little doubt that the goal can be reached and exceeded also.” The chairman said the kick-off date for the crusade is April 7 and it will continue through the 25th. Captains of the county districts who have been named are: Jackson, Mrs. Sharon Donahey; Piedmont, Mrs. Harriett Stokes; Hampton, Miss Bernadine Wilson; Stonewall, Mrs. Donna Fisher and Wakefield, Mrs. Liz Scherschel. Hawthorne district is without a captain, and a volunteer or suggestion will be appreciated.
