Rappahannock Rescue Squad took James Jenkins from home in Washington to the Warren Memorial Hospital on Sunday.
On Friday night three victims from an accident on Route 620 were taken to Culpeper Memorial Hospital by the Sperryville Rescue Squad. On Tuesday night a tourist from Nebraska was taken from the Parkway Gift Shop to the Culpeper Memorial Hospital. Sperryville Fire Company answered a call Friday to a chimney fire at Earl Kilby’s and on Monday to a field fire at Nether’s Mill. Amissville Fire Company responded to a call March 17 to a fire at Turner Settle’s at Viewtown. This turned out to be a false alarm and while the firemen were out trying to track that call down, they received three calls to fires. A request for help with a brush fire at South Wales was one call to which the Amissville unit was not able to respond for they were already out. They did however, respond to a fire at the dump and to a fire at the home of Rosie Hitt. On March 23 the Amissville unit answered a call to a chimney fire at the home of Mrs. Clara Putnam.
