Drug Institute Held for Educators
Among those attending the Summer Institute on Drug Education at Madison College in Harrisonburg this week are the Rev. William M. Hargett, John Penny, Mrs. W. H. Moffett, Jr. and Mike Anderson. The five-day seminar is the first of eight in an education program scheduled around the state and held at colleges and universities in July and August. 1 v" The program is sponsored by the State Board of Education in conjunction with the U.S. Office of Education and is a continuation of the state-wide drug education program for school administrators and faculty members begun in 1970. Those attending will participate in workshop and lecture sessions as well as meetings and field trips which are aimed at helping them learn the latest methods of implementing drug education programs in the elementary and secondary schools of the county.
Flint Hill Methodist Plan Church Picnic
The Flint Hill United Methodist Church Sunday School Picnic will be held at the Methodist Camp at Boston, Sunday, July 18. All members and friends are invited. Transportation will be available, leaving the church at 11 a.m.
