New Area Forester

Works Rappaha’ock

Forester Don Heverling. working out of the Charlottesville District office for the past 18 months, has been promoted to County Forester, according to an announcement by District Forester D. G. Wilfong, jr.

Heverling is from Lebanon, Pa and a 1969 graduate of the Penn sylvania State University. Since graduating with a degree in forestry, he has been an employee of the Virginia Division of Forestry. Heverling will work out of the Madison office, handling the forestry work in Greene, Madison and Rappahannock Counties. He will be taking over the forestry duties in Rappahannock County which has previously been han died by Forester William Vernam; and will also replace Forester William Foley, who resigned from the Division June 1, 1971. Heverling, who is married and has one daughter, plans on moving to the Madison area.

Forester Heverling will work with private landowners in the above mentioned counties on all phases of forest management work.
