We spent some pleasant times on this lake in my brother-in-law’s status symbol, a power boat. There was a place called the ‘hot hole’ that we could not enter for obvious reasons, it was said to raise the temperature of the whole lake. It was a fun trip, the beauty of its' lakes and recreational facilities, to some degree, lulled my desire to return home. It made me proud of my southern background when the reigning queen of South Carolina said that she was not stepping down, she was stepping up. She had enjoyed being a beauty queen, but now she could devote more time to Christ of whom she was not ashamed. She was such a beautiful girl, I believe she was sincere. Now we are back home. The lure of the lakes, the palms, the figs and other more southern charms have begun to fade. I lift up my eyes to the hills, I acknowledge HIM who helps me at all times, I’m sure HE had his hand on the wheel and helped to guide me home.
