Troop No. 65 In Action
Submitted by Lewis Cordle
Twelve members of Boy Scout Troop No. 65, of Sperryville, went to Boy Scout Camp Rock Enon the week of June 27 to July 3. Everyone had a terrific time. Several boys moved up in rank and the others earned merit badges that count toward the highest rank, Eagle Scout.
Friday, the 2nd, the camp held its Olympics. Troop 65 took first place. The boys who participated worked hard and came away with all the honors. I think that shows real SPIRIT!
Our thanks to Mr. B. Gale Titchenell and Mr. Irvin Kenyon who were at camp and helped the boys. Suspense was high at the campfire Friday night, because that is when members of each troop are tapped for the Order of the Arrow. We had three members “iapped out”. These are scouts Ricky Wayland and Allen Smoot and Scoutmaster Mr. Richard Wayland. I think they deserve a big hand. Remember folks, support your local Scout Troop.
