Amissville Pee Wees Take Division Title
Amissville Pee Wee Baseball team clinched tlje championship in the Northern Division of Fauquier County Baseball League after defeating the Warrenton Lions team last Thursday and securing a victory Saturday over Warrenton Little Chicks. In the July 8th game Mike Smoot was on the mound for Amissville to pitch a 13-2 victory. Smoot went all the way striking out 8 and allowing 4 hits.
Boosting the Amissville score was Wilbur Glascock with a homer, a double and a single and Barry Adkins with a homer and a single. Cecil Smoot added two triples. The Warrenton Little Chicks bowed to Amissville 7-3 Saturday to take the championship. Cecil Smoot pitched the entire game while Hodge Miller led the batting with a homer and a single. Cecil Smoot added a triple and two singles while Mike Smoot contributed a triple.
Amissville will meet C-C-C(Calverton, Catlett and Casanova) Saturday for the championship of the entire Fauquier Little League. C-C-C- were the champions of the Southern Division. The championship game is tentatively scheduled for 8 p.m. at Vint Hill Farms Station, however, it is possible a change may be made,
