Trounce McLean
The Amissville Pee Wees trounced the McLean Boys Club ll to 1 at a game held Saturday afternoon in McLean, Va. Mike Smoot pitched four-hit ball while striking out 10, allowing one unearned run. Amissville’s sound defensive baseball coupled with a blistering 12-hit attack gave the club its llth straight victory. The 1971 record now stands at 13-2 for manager Robert B. Settle’s club.
Cecil Smoot, Jeff Martin, Perry Breeden, Hodge Miller, Jay Miller, Wilbur Glascock, Barry Adkins and Mike Smoot all hit safely for Amissville. The Amissville Pee Wees are sponsored by the Amissville Ruritan Club.
