A brilliant fireworks display accompanied the opening last night of the Flint Hill Fire Company’s annual carnival which continues through Saturday night. The mammoth parade arranged under the supervision of M. R. Bradford will be the feature of this evening, Thursday.
Leading the parade which begins at 7 p.m. will be the Grand Marshal Miss Suzanne Pluskoski of National Park, N. J. who is “Miss Metropolitan, D.C.” This 19-year-old blue-eyed blonde who stands 5’8” also holds the titles of Miss Steel Pier and Miss Apple Queen U.S.A. She was also a finalist in the Miss U.S.A. pageant.
A special guest for the parade will be the current “Miss Virginia”, Miss Linda Moyer of Norfolk. The music of a dozen bands will be interspersed with the marching units, majorette groups and individuals, Ladies Auxiliaries, floats, comics and fire and rescue units.
A plate supper will be available on the grounds as well as hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, etc. which are sold each night.
