Latham Is Principal
of Ladysmith H.S.
F. Wendell Latham jr. of Fredericksburg has been appointed principal of Ladysmith High School by the Caroline County School Board. He has taught agriculture there since 1965 and during this time has been the advisor to the C. T. Smith Future Farmers of America Chapter and Young Farmers Association.
Mr. Latham, 28, completed Culpeper County High School and received his bachelor’s and master’s degree in agricultural education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
He received the second place state award as the Virginia Teacher of the Year in Farm Electrification in 1969 and this year was presented an award for Teacher of Teachers by the State Vo-Ag Teachers’ Association.
He is secretary and past president of the West Caroline Ruritan Club and member of Fredericksburg’s Agricultural Fair and of the Fat Stock Show and Sale committees there.
Mr. Latham is the son of Mrs. W. R. Bowen of Amissville and the late Mr. Latham and grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Latham, sr.
