The conference consisted of 19 separate group meetings, all geared to stress the necessity of and manner in which teachers can get students more involved in the learning process. The seminars were led by Rappahannock and Warren instructors with assistance from Mrs. Kathleen Kerry, Assistant supervisor 01 Special Education from the Virginia Department of Education. Representatives from the Ginn Book Company and Science Research Associates were present to assist in answering questions concerning various reading programs. The local education association met with Mr. Penney presiding after the seminar sessions were completed.
