country is a varsity sport, so their efforts were unofficial, however, it reflects the great qualities of these young men who train and compete in this grueling sport for no credit. It is evident that their efforts will be rewarded in future years.
It takes a quiet kind of determination and courage to train and compete in this sport. Only the individual can supply the will and strength for to falter may bring down an entire team. The Panther team will travel to Montevideo on October 6 to compete with the Maroons and on October 9 they will go to Stonewall for a contest. Two meets, with dates to be announced later, are scheduled to be run at the local high school. The county can be proud of this new addition to the school’s athletic program.
