Fire Training School
Starts This Wk.-End
The annual fire training school sponsored by the Rappahannock County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association is scheduled for two weekends, Saturday and Sunday, September 25 and 26 and October 2 and 3. The school is approved by Fire Service Training and the State Board of Education and will be held at the Amissville fire hall and carnival ground with Braxton James as school director. Among the subjects to be explored are breathing apparatus and protective clothing, structural fires, power tools, forest fires, drive training, fire extinguishers, ropes and rescue practices. The 30-hour training session begins atv 8 a.m. September 25 with registration at Amissville fire hall followed by announcements and the introduction of instructors. Classes begin at 8:45 as groups assemble for training sessions. It is hoped that each firemen in Rappahannock County will take advantage of the opportunity to improve his knowledge and skill that he may act more efficiently when the occasion demands.
