Series of Wrecks

Several traffic crashes have occurred the past week on Rappahannock roads. A single car crash occurred Saturday at 5:30 a.m. on Route 601. Benjamin Franklin Gordon of Etlan operating a 1949 Chevrolet pickup, ran out of the road and struck a tree. He sustained lacerations of the head and lip and was charged with reckless driving, according to Trooper J. B. Willis who investigated.

A motorcyclist sustained injuries in a crash Friday on Route 211 a mile south of Sperryville. Joseph J. La porta of Williamstown, N. J. received lacerations to his chin and dislodged several teeth when he ran off the road, struck a rock and catapulted 67 feet, according to a report filed by Trooper K. L. Miller.

La porta was operating a 1971 Suzuki motorcycle which sustained damages estimated at $200. Two vehicles were involved in a
