Jesse William Cloud of Castleton died Saturday, October 9, 1971 at his home. Mr. Cloud, 73, a farmer, was a native of Rappahannock County, the son of the late James William Cloud and Ada Leake Cloud.
He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Helen Lucy Wharton and seven foster children; Lillian Ford of Front Royal, Nellie Utz of Brightwood, Virginia Coppage of Madison, Jennie Mae Dodson of Culpeper, Lucy Compton of Castleton, William Wharton of Strasburg and Garfield Wharton of Remington.
A funeral service was held Tuesday at Geest Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Archie Clatterbuck. Burial was in Sperryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Haywood Wharton, William Wharton, Kinsey Wharton, Robert Wharton, Richard Wharton, Garence Lee Wharton, Elwood Wharton and David Norman.
