Albert B. Gore
Albert Byrd Gore, 75, a retired farmer of Culpeper, died October 8 at Mt. View Nursing Home, Aroda, after a long illness.
A funeral service was held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gordon George officiating.
A native of Rappahannock County he was the son of the late Abson Byrd Gore and Nannie Spicer Gore. Mr. Gore’s first wife, Neda Corbin Gore, died in 1939.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Arbelia Almond Gore; eight daughters, Mrs. Thomas F. Norris, Mrs. Willard R. Rupard, Mrs. Sam B. Jenkins, Mrs. Bernard Corbin and Mrs. John BJenkins, all of Culpeper, Mrs. William Bazzle of Haywood, Mrs. Roy Jenkins of Locust Dale and Mrs. Harold Hart of Ruckersville; six sons, Garland, Carlton, Otis, Milton and Ray Gore, all of Culpeper, and Winfrey Gore of Brightwood; 43 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Miss Sarah and Miss Annie Maude Gore and Mrs. Page Carpenter, all of Reva; and three brothers, Clarence and Ashby Gore, both of Reva and Walter Gore of Front Royal.
