Albert Jett, Jr.

Albert Carter Jett, Jr. of Huntly /died October 9,1971 as the result of an automobile accident in Jacksonville, Fla. He was 26, the son of Albert C. Jett, Sr. and Bessie Jordan Jett of Huntly and was bom in Augusta, Ga. Surviving with his parents are two brothers, Henry W. Jett in Vietnam, and Bernard E. Jett of Huntly; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Fletcher and Mrs. Alicia Jett both of Huntly. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Macedonia Baptist Church at Flint Hill conducted by the Rev. Carter Alsberry. Burial was in Flint Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carroll Freeman, George Turner, John Turner, Bobby Monday, R. W. Woodall and Melvin J. Nelson, Jr. Turner Funeral Home, Front Royal was in charge of arrangements.

Samuel T. Rector

Samuel Thomas Rector, 67, of Amissville died Friday, October 8, 1971 at his residence. He was a native of Amissville, the son of the late Will and Margaret Rector. He had spent much of his adult life at Stephens City, returning to Amissville two years ago. His wife, Geraldine Rector, predeceased him. A funeral was held yesterday at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church near Amissville with the Rev. James Burrell conducting the service. Interment was in the cemetery at Bethel Baptist Church, Amissville. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Thomas of Washington, D. C. and Miss Thelma Rector of New York, N.Y.; and a son, Irvin Rector of Hot Springs, Ark.

Mrs. Violet Riley

Violet Lea Riley of Marshall died in Warren Memorial Hospital October 2, 1971. She was 64. The Rev. Leroy Home conducted services Monday at 2 p.m. from the Turner Funeral Home. Burial was in the cemetery at Sperry ville.

She was bom in Rappahannock County, a daughter of William Thomas Colvin and Rosa Rutherford Colvin.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Alma P. Thomas of Stephens City; a brother, Thomas H. Colvin and three sisters, Virgie, Mary and Eliza Colvin, all of Marshall, and two grandchildren.
