The Blue Ridge Mountain Estates Civic and Development Corporation held its fall meeting Saturday, October 9. Attendance wasn’t quite up to the usual number because of the inclement weather and the World Series, but an interesting session was enjoyed by members from several states. The dinner served by the Ladies Auxiliary was a success and netted a nice sum for our worthy Volunteer Fire Department.

Miss Opal Burnette, who is making an extended visit with her mother in Ohio, drove in for the Estates meeting Saturday. Others from a distance who attended included: Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Moore from Philadelphia, Pa.; Mrs. Marian Barb and Mrs. Flora Rhudy of Washington, D. C.; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Town of Fairfax Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Stewart of Silver Spring, Md.; and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schilz of Alexandria.
