Polo team
AFTER A layoff of three <veeks due to heavy rains, the Casanova Polo Club swung back into high gear action this past Sunday at the Woodlawn Plantation Polo Field by defeating the Woodlawn Polo Club 7 to 4. The red and gray started Casanova Riders fielded Joe Claffey at back, John Gulick at the number three spot, Jim Hourahan at two, the first position was played by John Lyle, who alternated during the sixth period match with Butch Eastham of Rappahannock County, who played his first outdoor circuit match this Sunday.
Casanova once again took the lead in the first 30 seconds of play with a goal by Jim Hourahan from midfield. This was followed within seconds by John Gulick who scored Casanova’s second Goal. Joe Claffey got in the act towards the end of the first period by scoring the third goal for Casanova.
At half time the Casanova players had a 5-0 lead over Woodlawn.
