Hordes of spectators lined the parade route through Flint Hill Thursday night as the firemen sponsored their annual parade and carnival. Many marching units, bands and floats were included in the lineup. Also much in evidence were beauty queens, among them -‘Miss Metro,” above. *
Rappahannock girls w in LISA DAY AND KATHY DWYER, both of Sperryville, competed in the All-Comers field and tract meet Saturday in Winchester. The two accounted for six first place awards and one second in a total of six events. Kathy held the lead for a victory in the 440 yard dash and later placed second in the 220 yard run. Lisa threw, jumped and ran to victories in the discus throw, high jump and hurdles. The girls joined two other girls at the meet to make a winning combination in the 880 yard relay. Ribbons were awarded for their success. August 12 will be the last meet of the summer program which has been conducted at James Wood High School. Trophies will be presented first place contenders while those placing second and third will receive ribbons. □
