Centennial Field Day
FARMERS, FARM supply dealers and other interested persons will particmate in the Centen nial Field Day on Piedmont Station at Orange.
Extension Agent Bob Tudor ot Fauquier says the field day proceedings will start at 1 p.m. George Jones, who is in charge of the station at Orange, will welcome guests. Dr. T. B. Hutcheson, Jr., Head Agronomy Department of VPI & SU, will introduce Director of Centennial Programs, G. W. Litton, who will speak upon “A Century of Progress.”
Following Litton’s address, the group will tour the research plots. Persons directly responsible for research on No-till of Corn, Alfalfa Varieties, and Management, Corn Varieties, Forage Varieties (annual), Soybean Varieties and a demonstration showing varieties of corn and fertilizer treatments used during the past century.
Other research areas will be discussed with those *, who want to visit outlying areas or other projects * on the station August 24 . The tour is scheduled to be completed by 4 p.m. □
