A number of minor traffic accidents have occurred in recent days. Friday evening Mrs. Sharon Powell Presgrave of Centreville, operating a 68 Ohrysler, was struck by Archie Roland Williams of Rixeyville. He was driving a 66 Chevrolet. Williams was charged with reckless driving by Trooper S. W. Weatherholtz who investigated.
The same evening, though after midnight, a Cadillac operated by Dale Alden Dunbar of Washington, D.C. struck and killed an Angus steer on Route 211 east of Amissville. This was also investigated by Trooper Weatherholtz who also checked on a crash on Route 729 Monday. Mrs. Lucie Compton of Castleton lost control of her vehicle and struck a bank. On October 28 on Route 602 at Peola Mills a 1973 Ford van operated by Ralph Barnes Jackson of Gettysburg, Pa. struck a bridge railing and tumbled into the creek below.
According to Trooper W. A. Buntin, Jackson skidded on wet pavement and hit the bridge on the left of the road. Fifty feet of bridge railing was knocked down and damage to the truck was estimated at two thousand dollars.
Two vehicles collided on Route 645 east of Amissville November 4. Charles F. Trageser in a 68 Plymouth struck Martha Lee Williams who was driving a 67 Chrysler. All are from Amissville.
They met on the crest of a hill and sideswiped. Trageser was cited for failing to drive to the right of the road by Trooper Buntin. □
