THE CHRISTMAS tree is one of the world’s most attractive and expressive holiday symbols. If you would like to see some beautiful pictures of Christmas trees from around the world, browse through a copy of “The Trees of Christmas” by Edna Metcalfe. Hiis book contains full page colored pictures of twenty-three trees, decorated as would be typical for many countries.
Each picture has a brief and interesting commentary which describes some of the sacred, traditional, or festive customs related to the Christmas tree being illustrated. This book is based on the annual exhibit of trees from many lands which is one of the outstanding displays of the Cheekwood Fine Arts Center in Nashville, Tenn.
