Pete Luke said the maps will be useful planning tools and will prove valuable to the county for other services as well. H. B. Wood wanted to know how the salaries of the Planning Commissioners will be paid if their $500 is used for the maps.
Luke said the “compensation of members” is a separate fund from the one earmarked for “professional services.” So the Planning Commissioners were not asking for money that had not been previously appropriated to them, Luke said.
“But they can’t get that money out of the general fund except by approval of this board,” George Davis said.
“Well, if we approve them going ahead with the course of action they’ve outlined, that’s the same thing,” Luke said. H. B. Wood was the only “no” when the vote was called.
0. A. NORTON, superintendent of schools, told the Supervisors he “needed the services of Chapter 10” when he heard that $37,000 would have to be returned by the county school board to the state.
